Susan Saab Hagen
Susan Hagen is mostly a self taught artist. While her degree is in Psychology and she worked with children and families as a social worker, her art was put aside while she raised her family and worked. Susan is now focusing on art full time and enjoys sharing with others what she has learned. She further travels often to learn skills from other artists.
Susan's art focus is mostly strong, emotional, and mysterious women. She finds that women are the most versatile. While she prefers to paint with Acrylic, she also works often with mixed media and collage.
Since focusing full time on her art six years ago Susan has had eight publications with Somerset Magazines, including a cover piece.
She has won first and second place at Art Unraveled in Phoenix and second best in show at Gallery 194 Spring show in Lapeer. Susan has shown art in Flint at Buckham Gallery, GFAC, Flint Institute of Arts, Ferris Wheel, and ELGA Credit Union. Additionally she has shown art at Swartz Creek Art Gallery, Gallery 194 in Lapeer, and The Tangent Gallery in Detroit at theirInternational Show The Damned.
